Hello!

We’re Alec and Becca and we lived in our self-converted Volkswagen Crafter for over two years, during which time we had an incredible adventure exploring Europe and the UK.

We’re accompanied by our pups – Syl, who’s a Husky/GSD, Malamute/Lab cross and Gus (or Gustav if we’re being formal) who is an unidentified mix who we found at around five weeks old while we were in Montenegro. Or, as they’re often referred to the “good dog” and the “naughty dog”, no points for guessing which is which (though, admittedly the lines can blur on occasion!)

Our first trip was around ten months in total and took us from almost the very top of Scandinavia in the Lofoten Islands right the way down to Croatia and Montenegro, finishing in the French Alps for a ski season – something we loved so much we headed out to do another the winter after that too (2018/19)!

The dogs (or just Syl initially) are in fact one of the main reasons we chose to travel Europe and specifically in a van – adventures are nowhere near as fun if they can’t come along and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Two good friends of mine admiring the sunset in Wales – I much prefer to be behind the camera!

Here we share a few tips and tricks we discovered on our meanderings, how we found travelling accompanied by our two furry companions, photos, and some recommendations too.

I would also love to use this opportunity to showcase some of my artwork here in the hope of selling the odd piece to help fund our adventures!

Happy reading – we would love to hear from you – and maybe see you on the road someday soon!
